Ingredients:
long / medium grain white rice (ex. Jasmine/Basmati)
water **
oil (examples: 1-2 pats of butter or 1-2 tbs. olive oil-sesame oil)
salt (optional)
Procedure:

Ingredients:
long / medium grain white rice (ex. Jasmine/Basmati)

Procedure:
- measure desired amount of rice and place in colander
- rinse rice under running water for full ten seconds
- set aside and allow to dry for at least 10 minutes
- add oil to pot and heat over medium heat till melted or close to "hot"
- add rice to pot and mix over heat till a little "sizzle" is heard. (30 seconds to a minute)
- add equal volume of water as rice to pot (ie. 1 cup rice, add 1 cup water)
- put lid on & heat pot until a simmer is achieved about the rim
- turn heat to low (but not warm) maintaining a gentle simmer
- simmer on low 13 minutes
- remove from heat
- allow to sit at least 10 minutes
- remove lid and gently separate the rice from the pot edge and fluff
- return lid and allow to sit an additional 5-10 minutes
